Last year, our crews responded to over 6,000 calls for service. While we pride ourselves in being an effective and aggressive fire department, we respond to other emergencies as well.
In many medical emergencies, seconds count. The Ridge Road Fire District has been responding to medical calls since the 1970‘s and we work closely with Monroe Ambulance to provide immediate emergency medical care in our community. While we are not a transporting agency, we participate in first response Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and initiate care before the ambulance arrives.
Our district is home to several heavy industrial sites as well as two state highways. Because of this, our firefighters and officers are trained in hazardous materials (HazMat) response, at least to the technician level. This allows us to mitigate HazMat incidents effectively and reduce community and environmental impact.
All communities have hazards and ours is no different. We are trained and equipped in several special operations disciplines including motor vehicle incidents, trench collapse, confined space, high-angle rope rescue, and water/ice rescue. While we hope you never need us in any of these situations, we are prepared to respond.
Fire Prevention and Community Outreach
We are involved in several community outreach programs. These programs allow us to educate and assist the community in non-emergency situations. Click Here for more information.
