For entry-level positions, the Ridge Road Fire District hires from an eligible list of district residents that have successfully completed a Civil Service Examination prepared and distributed by the Monroe County Office of Human Services. A local district list is first established, and when exhausted of viable candidates, a county list may be reviewed. Routinely, we do not post available positions for Firefighter, as we continually draw from the aforementioned establish list.

Officer promotions are commonly made from within the current employed ranks. However, the fire district may seek other candidates to fill administrative staff positions.

The Greece Ridge Fire Department, Inc. may nominate qualified individuals that seek Volunteer Protective status. Under certain conditions, active members may live outside the district boundaries. For more information regarding these opportunities and others, ask here
