Groups at RRFD work (2) 10 hour consecutive days shifts followed by (2) 14 hour consecutive night shifts. The first day shift scheduled advances (1) day each week. Group members are assigned to companies by the Duty Officer (Battalion Chief, Captain or a Lieutenant temporarily assigned to the duty). Lieutenants and Firefighters rotate stations every two months and are offsetting. Company assignments within a house are week to week.
