07.13.09... Recently, Battalion Chief
Thomas Chennell (Badge 26) and Battalion Chief Rick Russotti (Badge 32)
have announced their retirements. Upon their official retirement date,
both will have served the Fire District and the community for more than
20 years as a sworn career firefighter and officer. BC Chennell (BCTC)
has managed the maintenance of the district's fleet of apparatus and
staff vehicles for many years and BC Russotti (BCRR) has been the
driving force for the division of EMS for several years. Rick's
expertise and accomplishments brought our EMS services from basic to
advanced certifications and not only has his efforts cast a spotlight
on this organization for piloting one of the state's first in-service
re-certification programs, RRFD has been recognized by local, regional
and state service organizations for outstanding Emergency Medical
Services.
Both Battalion Chiefs have made significant
contributions to the citizens of the Ridge Road community, which will not be
forgotten. All of us at RRFD wish them good health and wellness in their
future endeavors. CONGRATULATIONS!
