AFG AWARD
RRFD has received an AWARD notification from the Department of Homeland Security for the 2008 Assistance to Firefighter's Grant Program in the amount of $88,045.00.

SAFER
RRFD received a Staffing For Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant in the amount of $421,700.00. The Grant was presented by Congressman Tom Reynolds.

The goal of SAFER is to enhance the local fire departments’ abilities to comply with staffing, response and operational standards established by NFPA and OSHA (NFPA 1710 and/or NFPA 1720 and OSHA 1910.134.

Charles Richardson for his successful reelection to the Board of Fire Commissioners beginning his 7th term. Commissioner Richardson has served the Ridge Road community in this capacity for 30 years.

The first few days of 2009 have proven tragic to the citizens of our state given the loss of nine lives in residential structure fires lacking operating smoke detectors.
