New Apparatus Delivery
July 15, 2014

We recently placed Quint 250 in service.  The apparatus is a 2014 E-One HP 100 and is intended to serve our district for the next twenty years.  Thank you to all who worked on design, specification, purchase, and preparation of the truck.  Here the truck is pictured in front of the Ridgeway Station.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Ridge Road Fire District to protect the lives and property of the citizens and visitors of the district by providing the highest possible levels of service through fire supression, rescuce , emergency medical care, public education, and mitigation of natural and man-made disasters, consistent with the resources provided.

The current website background is a collage of historical pictures of fire department and district personnel, equipment and significant events. Today, we're still putting water on fires the same way, but the fire service and the equipment we use today is all together different.

The image was created for the cover of the department's 90th Anniversary Booklet and serves as a reminder of how much we've grown in a relatively short period of time. We have forged a rich history of providing the best public service possible to the citizens of the Ridge Road Fire District and Town of Greece since 1922. Through leadership and dedication, this level of service has only been possible through the tireless efforts of all the career and volunteer members of the department.

We pause from time to time to look back in appreciation for the generous service our members have given their community, but only for a moment-- the alarm bell will surely ring and we'll be out the door to serve again and again.

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation
Annual Golf Tournament

The Ridge Road Fire District, with the assistance of the Rochester Fire Department hosted the 8th Annual Tournament at the Deerfield Country Club, June 8th and 9th.  With 120 golfers on Sunday and more than 200 on Monday, it makes this event one of the foundations largest events and the money raised at this event also allows us the be able to say we are one of the largest contributors to the National Fallen Fighters Foundation.  This year, as in previous years, the survivors of firefighters lost this past year were invited to attend. Holes were dedicated to each and a hole flag was presented to each family.  The event was a huge success but it would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of the volunteers that come back year after year to help, the vendors who provide the coffee and donuts, the lunch, the water, pop and beer, the sponsors and their donations, the bagpipers, drummers and Honor Guards for the opening ceremonies and the owners and staff of the Deerfield Country Club.  The never ending support of the County Executive and the Town of Greece supervisor is greatly appreciated year in and year out.

But, without the year round dedication of the co-chairs, Randy Jensen and Steve Johnson, the event would not take place.  These two, along the Russ Merrick from the Rochester Fire Department are the movers of this event and they deserve a huge thank you from all of us.  Finally, to the golfers who come back year after year, we thank you and hope to see you again next year when we will host the 9th Annual New York State National Fallen Firefighters Golf Tournament.

On behalf of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, the men and women of the Ridge Road Fire District and the Rochester Fire Department, I am extending a sincere thank you for helping to make this event another huge success.
